Guy Bassett (Disco Child, Lone star productions)

1985 年、Guyは兄貴であるDJ Harvey (BLACK COCK/Sarcastic Disco)、Thomas Bullock (Rub’N’Tug)とともに結成したTone Def Krew (TDK)のグラフィティ・アーティストとしてその活動を始める。その後‘87年、Guyは彼自身主催のクルー“Def Connection/Disco Children (DC)”を結成、ヒップホップ・ウェアハウスパーティーを数々行う。 翌‘88年に彼はロンドンに移り住み、伝説的なパーティー“Tonka Hi-Fi Sound System“の創設メンバーとなった。悪名高き伝説の“Tonka Hi-Fi“は、海岸にサウンドシステムを下ろし、当時のロンドンのシーンをひっくり返すような衝撃とヴァイブで、最高のフリー・ハウスパーティーを開い ていた。‘90年にはDJ HarveyとMarkie Mark (Wicked SF)ともにCaptains Tableにてプレイ。 また‘91年には、彼自身初となるレジデント・パーティー “Sunday Drivers”をロンドン・キングスクロスにて開始。ロック、ゴスペル、ディスコの3、4時間にも及ぶセットをプレイした。 2005年、東京に移住。GuyはDJプレイだけでなく、ライブ音楽　とポエタリー・リーディングを組み合わせた、革新的なインターネットラジオ “Back to DC”を開始。 現在は原宿Bar BonoboにてMax Essa、Ken Hidaka、Gordy Allan、Dr RobらとともにLone Star Productionsのマンスリー・パーティーを主催。

Guy started out in 1985/6 as a graffiti writer for the original Cambridge party organization the Tone Def Krew (TDK) which included his brother DJ Harvey(BLACK COCK/Sarcastic Disco) and friend ThomasBullock (Rub’N’Tug). Guy then went on to form his own crew the Def Connection/Disco Children (DC) in 1987, organizing hip-hop warehouse parties. In 1988 he moved to London and became a founding member of the legendary “Tonka Hi-Fi Sound System”. With Tonka he organized warehouse parties as well as the Zap club parties and beach parties after. In 1990 Guy was the warm up DJ for Harvey and Markie Mark (Wicked SF) at the “Captains Table“ in Soho London. In 1991, Guy also started his first regular DJ party, “Sunday Drivers” at the Ruby Lounge in Kings Cross London playing three and four hour sets of Rock, Gospel and Disco. Moving in to Tokyo in 2005, Guy then started to host a revolutionary internet radio show, “Back to DC”. Where he played live music and read poetry as well as DJing. Currently, Guy is a resident at Bar Bonobo @ Harajuku, monthly Lone Star Productions party with Max Essa, Ken Hidaka, Gordy Allan and Dr Rob.
